On 21 February 2011 at 12:52 Logan McMillan hefted his tripod and decided to leave it behind. He would need both hands free to climb down six floors of the cracked stairwell that was filled with water and debris.

If you are a producer or director working in commercials or drama you almost certainly would like to get the 35mm film look on screen. Until now, the only way to afford it on a low budget was to use a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) stills camera like the Canon 5D.
Shooting video with a DSLR means you are stuck with operating from the small low-resolution screen to judge critical focus and exposure. The other option is to use the HDMI output which, although it blanks the cameras LCD, at least let you use a professional monitor to assess framing, focus and exposure.
All of our members are vouched, vetted and endorsed. High membership standards and criteria apply. The are no booking fees or commissions, producers must contact the freelancers direct.

Low cost super 35 fixed lens camcorder - our thoughts when testing a early release
What does it mean to freelancers? Will profit orientated funding affect local programming.. or more importantly affect local production in New Zealand?
